Between the touching message and the breathtaking illustrations, this wonderful book sends you into a 'Zen' state from page 1. The message, YOU ARE ENOUGH, is clear as you read through each page; it embraces and uplifts. The art is almost ethereal. The soft pastels and soft use of jewel tones wraps you in warmth and comfort. Both of my granddaughters (8 and 11) loved every page and GOT the message.A lovely book for every child's bedside.

From the moment you see the ethereal cover of The Light in You, you are and drawn into the magical world Douglass and Rodgers created. My two-year-old daughter loves to touch each page and point to all the things she finds beautiful. We recently read this book before we said goodbye to her beloved paci to remind her of her capacity to overcome hard things and the love and comfort she carries inside. Each page feels like a warm hug that stabilizes you in uncertain times and affirms you in happy ones as it helps us see we are all more than these fleeting versions of ourselves. Young children will be lulled by the poetic prose and diaphanous illustrations, older children will integrate these words into their inner voice that guides them and comforts them, and grown-ups will be reminded of what we once forgot.
